Disappointment in Round 9

Disappointment in Round 9

Last Sunday morning, our Intermediate football team were scheduled to play away to bottom of the table St Pat’s in the Division 2 League. The two points on offer for a victory in this round would propel the team up into joint second place and very importantly into one of the promotion positions.

Unfortunately, the Intermediate team have a small panel of players and hence through a combination of injuries and players not being available it was with great disappointment that the management decided there was no other option available to them but to surrender the game to St Pat’s.

It is a huge blow to our teams ambitions of promotion this year, however St Pat’s will be grateful for the points after they have endured a very difficult league campaign. They had up to this stage only won one game from six and had accumulated a -59 points score difference to Stratford Grangecon.

The Club hopes that the team will find a solution to the problems they are encountering very soon as they are also scheduled for another important fixture against Ballymanus on Friday in the Championship.
